Danger from dogs

This is in reply to Alexandra Wolf’s May 25 comment regarding mail carriers and dogs.
I live in southwest Fort Worth and I try to walk two or three miles a day. It is 3/4-mile around our block, and there are approximately seven Chihuahuas running loose.
I have been attacked several times and until recently avoided bites by using dog repellent, but two months ago I was attacked and the Chihuahua was too fast to be sprayed.
It bit me on the leg, tore my pants and caused a fair-sized wound. I had to take several shots and was prescribed antibiotics, and it is not healed.
I think mail carriers who are threatened by dogs should not deliver mail until the dogs are locked up, as the law states.
