Freeway is not free

Once again, our highway planners have chosen to charge people to drive on the highways of our community.

Everywhere we go, they are spending hundreds of million dollars of extra expense to put toll lanes on what were formerly free highways.

Adding free lanes would have been a cheaper option.

It will be interesting to see whether people in Tarrant County are willing to spend hundreds of dollars every month in tolls, when many of our highways will have free lanes one lane away. In many cases, there won’t be a minute’s worth of savings for driving the toll lanes instead of the free lanes.

Don’t expect to see me on a toll lane. I don’t have a TollTag, and I don’t plan to get one or need one.
