Double standard

The definition of hypocrisy: Feigned high principles, beliefs and virtues (“Perry, Abbott accuse feds of Red River land grab”).

The definition of hypocrisy: Feigned high principles, beliefs and virtues (“Perry, Abbott accuse feds of Red River land grab”).

“If this country’s to stay the land of freedom and liberty,” Perry said, private property rights must be respected. Abbott is also “deeply concerned” that the feds can swoop in and take land.

Very patriotic statements. The word “secede” was mentioned by Perry. Abbott followed up with a fundraising email, and why not? This stuff makes your chest swell with pride.

Where were these patriotic leaders when the Texas governor permitted a foreign corporation to grab privately owned land from ranchers in East Texas, under the guise of eminent domain?

Land owned and cultivated by Texas landowners for generations?

Remember the Keystone pipeline? The difference is explained in one word: petroleum.

The double standard makes my stomach turn.
