My wife and I are going through a period of under-employment. Currently we are living off about $25,000 a year in income plus our savings. Until a couple of months ago we had no health insurance.
Then the Affordable Healthcare Act came along. I was told to either get insurance or pay a fine.
I signed up through the website and got a good policy that would normally cost $829 a month. At our current income level it is costing us only $27.89 a month. Guess who is paying the rest?
I guess I should thank all the taxpayers who are paying the rest, but I would rather apologize.
I never wanted to collect welfare, but I was forced into it.
