I just rode in the all-electric Tesla and, believe me, they are just gorgeous.
What a ride, and you don’t have to buy gas.
But they can’t be sold in Texas because Tesla sells only directly to the customer, and there are no dealerships in Texas.
But, wait — I thought Republicans hated government regulations and loved free enterprise.
So why aren’t Republicans coming to Tesla’s defense? Tesla even wants to build a big battery plant somewhere, but probably not in Texas with its law requiring dealerships.
Car dealers are a big lobby, and I’ll bet you 99 percent are Republicans, but they all seem to love the law that protects them from from direct car sales, like Tesla.
