Gordon Dickson wrote a good article (see: “Dry Wichita Falls to try drinking ‘potty water,’ ” Saturday) on the water shortage in Wichita Falls and other counties in North Texas.
Residents, cities and companies are going to have to learn more about conservation to deal with this return of the Dust Bowl.
But, he left out one glaring use of water: fracking.
Google fracking and Wichita Falls and many companies pop up, the same as all over this area including Fort Worth.
Never miss a local story.
Fracking is the elephant Texas leaders want to ignore, but it will not go away. The destruction of millions of gallons of water by being pushed down holes in the ground, often causing small earthquakes, is a crime against the residents of this state.
Technology exists to reuse this water. We ignore profligacy in pursuit of greed at our peril, as well as that of our grandchildren.
