Explain ‘miscellaneous deductions’

Does this royalties lawsuit ruling mean that all of us who had “miscellaneous deductions” subtracted from our royalty checks from other companies can look forward to getting reimbursement checks?

These deductions were added well into the lease and reduced royalty checks by at least 7 percent.

My understanding at the time these “miscellaneous deductions” were added that it was for production costs … which the company initially “forgot” to include!

Chesapeake may not be the only gas company with some explaining to do.
