I do not fault the Star-Telegram for publishing “25 Years of Jerry Jones.” But, I paid as little attention to the article as I would have given an overdone, expensive steak.
Jerry insists on being his own general manager, overruling the scouts, micro-managing his coaches. He staggers around like a hyped-up carnival barker in the midst of 75 State Fair midway rides.
He is comfortable with the mediocrity that is the Cowboys since 1995, as long as he is the center of attention. If the Cowboys win championships again, it will be in spite of the Jones Family, not because of them.
I hope that Johnny Manziel or some other favorite native Texan is not signed by the Cowboys. Given the incompetency at the top, Johnny Football would not have a chance.
