GOP and immigration

I am a Republican precinct chair and, as such, support the conservative view of candidates. My conservative views go back to the era of John F. Kennedy when I was a new mom.

As regards immigration, these 11 million immigrants are already here and seemingly integrated into our society and culture, so leave them along and let them start being a part of country. It is hard to understand why the Republicans have taken ownership of the illegal immigrant’s situation. It is the country’s issue, not Texas’ alone nor the Republicans’ alone.

The main focus should be on securing the border. If Fort Worth is a “sanctuary city,” then so be it. But if resources are used on border security, it makes more sense to keep the ones who are here but limit the border crossing. Take care of the ones who are here now, or at least leave them alone.
