There is only one viable candidate running for Tarrant County district attorney, and that is Sharen Wilson.
Last year, my daughter Jade Jiles was killed by a drunk driver, leaving behind a 6-month-old son and two young brothers. My family had never been involved in the criminal justice system up until that point, and everything was moving with record speed.
A few months later, we were told to be in court for a probation revocation hearing at 8:30 a.m. We were the forgotten victims, sitting in the victims’ assistance lounge while the assigned judge filmed a diversion program. The state offered 12 years, and we really didn’t know what to do.
Sharen Wilson gathered all of us together and led us in prayer. She was so compassionate and caring. She never left our side. During this time she was not a judge, but a friend to a family in pain.
