Bolen: a great mayor

I’m very sad at the passing of former Mayor Bob Bolen. I had a chance to meet him several times. One occasion was when some of my students had the pleasure of interviewing him, and Mayors Mike Moncrief and Kenneth Barr together.
He and the other mayors were willing to spend several hours with my students. Mayor Bolen exchanged stories of how Fort Worth blossomed under his administration, but also gave great credit to his predecessors and successors. It was interesting to see how these three mayors conversed and got along with each other so well.
One of the last times I had a chance to speak with him he praised Mayor Betsy Price for her leadership and experience, and he was proud of Mayor Kay Granger and her congressional leadership.
Fort Worth has lost a great mayor, and should be proud of its great mayoral lineage.
