A major loss

Many thanks for Wednesday’s excellent article by Barry Shlachter on the loss of two of the local Barnes & Noble bookstores. This is a major loss for Fort Worth.
We visited the store at University Park Village at least once a week for the past 15 years. It was a great place to get a good cup of coffee at Starbucks, browse the new bestsellers, get maps for foreign countries and cities and admire the children’s department, where children could be read to and become familiar with the printed word.
It was a great place to buy obscure magazines and CDs. .
I’m angry that the new landlord, Glimcher Realty Trust, failed to reach an accommodation with Barnes & Noble.
We have lost an old friend.
