Jerry Jones wants .500 ball again?
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones was quoted as saying he didn’t want to make changes in his top coaching staff because he wanted “continuity.” This reminds me of the adage “doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results is the definition of insanity.”
If he wants different results, he should fire the general manager (himself), head coach Jason Garrett and let the new coach decide on the offense and defense. Otherwise, the Cowboys will end up 8-8 or if they are lucky, maybe 9-7 — but I think 7-9 is more likely.

Dreamers need permanent status
The California federal judge who blocked the Trump administration’s plan to roll back DACA is on the right side of history. While this is a small step, we need a permanent solution.
The DREAM Act will allow thousands of Dreamers to continue to contribute to the country they’ve called home their whole lives. Do the right thing; pass it. President Trump has mentioned that we need a solution to DACA, and this is it. I hope you, too, will stand on the right side of history and support those who are considered Americans but don’t have the paperwork to prove it.
Cynthia De La Torre,
Utilities should share benefits
When considering the tax cuts that businesses will receive under the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, it occurred to me that the various utility companies in Texas will also benefit from lower taxes. Since utility companies do not face the same stiff competition that unregulated businesses must deal with, I think it’s only fair that the financial benefit the electric and natural gas companies receive should be passed along to consumers.
And because electricity and natural gas are “necessities” for life, these companies have different obligations to those they serve. Utility companies are already allowed to earn a reasonable profit before receiving this substantial benefit of a tax cut.
The PUC and Texas Railroad Commission should require that the savings realized by the utility companies should be passed through to their customers.

Targeting the Democrats
I feel a great sense of gratitude to the Democrats in Congress who, upon seeing a young man lift skyward the crutches he used to escape Communist tyranny, sat on their dumpy Democrat derrières and scowled at the graphic exposé of courage.
It, once and for all, demonstrated the truth of the Democratic Party: A Communist front organization posing as Americans
Thank you, Democrats. Keep up the good work and show us more.

Don’t interfere with Mueller probe
All this protesting and cover-ups by Republicans are making President Trump or maybe even high-ranking Congress members look guilty. “Me thinks you doth protest too much!”
Especially since former FBI Director Robert Mueller is a Republican and was widely supported by Republicans when he was nominated. Republicans need to stop playing politics and stop interfering with the Mueller investigation. If Trump is innocent, he will be proven so. Mueller is trustworthy as per Republicans when he was appointed.
No longer the good ol’ USA?
Our government’s inability to work, compromise and do what is best for this country is depressing. Allow the Dreamers to stay. They must follow all the laws for legal status and pay the required fees. Pause all immigration until a real solution is found and in place. End birthright citizenship.
We are not longer united. I fear this country is going to fail.
