The most “deplorable” thing that I have seen in this election cycle is the condescending attitude Hillary Clinton has demonstrated.
Michael K. Stevens,
While not a Trump or Clinton supporter, I don't believe any voter is deplorable or irredeemable.
Clinton paints millions of Americans with a very broad brush.
If I disagree with her vision of the future, there must be something wrong with me that was not uncovered by college, medical school, postgraduate training and 35 years of work with highly educated people.
The so-called birther movement was based on a bald-faced lie.
It was disproved years ago, yet Donald Trump has ridden that pony from the get-go, adding fuel to the fallacy.
Suddenly, Trump decided it was time for he alone to end the lie by telling the truth.
It was Hillary Clinton’s fault from the beginning, he said!
The words were hardly out of his mouth when that bald-faced lie was disproved.
So Trump “ends” what he knows was a lie by telling another lie.
This man wants to lead our nation and the free world?

Thank you, Dick Collier, for bringing more attention to the Cats of Main Street. (Opinion page, Saturday)
Can't wait to see your next cartoon!
I find the cartoon regarding the murder of the trap-neuter-release cats in Arlington offensive.
At what point did cartoonist Dick Collier find the poisoning deaths of feral cats funny?
Imagine the agony and torture these animals suffered before they died because of ingesting poison mixed in their food.
It was very poor form to publish this.
The cartoon about the Arlington feral cat colony poisonings was anything but funny.
People — including myself — work hard and long in rescue to improve the quality of all animal lives, social or not.
To poke fun at what was a cruel act of humanity, and I use that last word lightly, was insensitive.
