HALTOM CITY — Firefighters extricated a man who had his arm caught in a forklift Wednesday afternoon for almost an hour, a city official said.

The man, who authorities said is in his 40s, got his arm trapped in the forklift after he attempted to repair it, authorities said Wednesday.

The unidentified man was taken to a local hospital. His condition was unavailable.

The accident was reported about 1 p.m. in the 3200 block of Edna Drive.

Firefighters used jacks, wood and other devices to free the man’s arm from the forklift.

“He had been using the forklift when it stopped working,” said Perry Bynum, emergency management coordinator for the city. “He worked on it, but at some point, he got his arm lodged in it and couldn’t get it out.”
