Trophy Club residents will vote Tuesday on a $5 million bond package that would upgrade the town’s parks and recreation facilities.
"This bond proposal is directly based on a random survey of our residents done by an independent firm," said Adam Adams, director of Trophy Club’s Parks and Recreation Department. "The town’s mandated to develop new PID parks with a required aquatic amenity, and we want to meet the requests and needs of our residents."If passed by voters Tuesday, the general obligation bonds would pay to complete public improvement district parks and for other specific needs, Adams said.Existing park Harmony ParkA 13-acre multiuse park. Additions and improvements would include a small spray park, lighted soccer field, upgrades to the soccer field, trail exercise stations and tennis court resurfacing.New parks Northeast Park Small playground, dog park, trail system, restrooms and parking. Northwest Park Lighted baseball fields, large pavilion, playground, restroom/concession building and football/soccer practice fields.Splash Park (Northwest) Shade structures and ultraviolet disinfection.At-large amenities Trail system from Trophy Club Park to the east side of town, recreation/community center feasibility study, ultraviolet filter for Community Pool and an additional pool feasibility study.
