The blitz

Terrell Owens has eight catches for 158 yards and a touchdown. It’s his worst four-game stretch as a starter in his 14-year NFL career.

The Philadelphia Eagles, who had a bye last week, have not lost the week after the bye since Andy Reid became the team’s head coach in 1999. They are 10-0 immediately following the bye and 63-28-1 in all games after the bye. They’ve had a losing record after the bye just once. That was in 2005, when they were 3-8 after the bye and finished 6-10. It was only one of two times in the past nine years the Eagles have failed to make the playoffs.

The Arizona Cardinals had 35 plays of at least 25 yards last season. They have three in three games this year.

Santonio Holmes, the hero of the Super Bowl, had 214 receiving yards in the Pittsburgh Steelers’ first two games. He has 70 in the team’s past two games.

The Houston Texans are 10-6 over their last 16 games, the best record in team history over a 16-game stretch.

In the past two games, the Atlanta Falcons’ defensive line has not had a sack and has given up 5.1 yards per carry rushing.

Indianapolis Colts defensive end Dwight Freeney has had at least one sack in five straight games, dating to the 2008 regular-season finale. He leads the team with five sacks. Robert Mathis has 4.5 sacks.

The Cleveland Browns play in Orchard Park, N.Y., which was the site of their last victory. It came last November, 10 games ago.

Green Bay’s Daryn Colledge, who was starting a second consecutive game in place of left tackle Chad Clifton, lined up against Minnesota Vikings defensive end Jared Allen 36 times before leaving with a sprained knee in the fourth quarter Monday. He allowed 6.5 pressures as Allen finished with 4.5 sacks against the Packers’ overmatched offensive line.

The St. Louis Rams are averaging a league-low 6 points per game. Their differential between points scored (24) and given up (108) is 84, by far the worst in the NFL.

The Tennessee Titans are 0-4 for the first time since 2006. They finished 8-8 that season but missed the playoffs.
