The Blitz

The Pittsburgh Steelers rank 27th in rushing and seventh in passing.

In four meetings against the Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson has rushed for 452 yards with a 6.3 yards-per-carry average.

In the 19 games Jim Zorn has been their head coach, the Washington Redskins have averaged 16.1 points per game. They have failed to reach 30 points in any of those 19 games. Last week, the Redskins scored 14 points against a team that had lost 19 games in a row.

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer has a 6-2 record with 20 touchdowns against 13 interceptions and a passer rating of 90.3 against the Cleveland Browns, although he missed both meetings last season with an elbow injury.

The Buffalo Bills have played 94 consecutive games without needing overtime. Their last overtime game was against the Bengals on Oct. 5, 2003. It is the longest active streak in the NFL. Every team except the Bills and the Indianapolis Colts has played an overtime game since 2006.

Tony Gonzalez, a 10-time Pro Bowler, set NFL records for tight ends in receptions (916), receiving yards (10,940) and touchdowns (76) during his 12 seasons in Kansas City. Gonzalez, traded to the Atlanta Falcons in the off-season, has 13 receptions and two touchdowns in three games in Atlanta. The Chiefs’ tight ends have seven receptions this season.

The St. Louis Rams now have the longest losing streak in the NFL, having dropped 14 in a row. The Browns are second with nine consecutive losses.

Packers coach Mike McCarthy is 5-1 against Vikings coach Brad Childress.

New York Jets rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez has two interceptions and one fumble in three starts. The Jets, of course, are 3-0.

After going 12-4 last season, Carolina is off to a 0-3 start for the first time in John Fox’s eight-year tenure and for the third time in team history.
