BEDFORD -- Police appealed for help Friday afternoon to identify a man who robbed a bank inside of a grocery store on Wednesday after he threatened a clerk.

Investigators released photographs Friday afternoon of the bandit from store surveillance cameras.

The man took an undisclosed amount of money from First Convenience Bank, inside Kroger Food Store, 2109 Harwood Road.

The bandit walked into the store, strolled up to the bank and demanded money from the clerk, but he never displayed a weapon. He did threaten the clerk, police said.

After the clerk handed him the money, the man fled the store, police said.

Witnesses described him as a white man about 5-feet-8, with a muscular build, in his mid- to late 20s with very short hair. He was wearing a blue ball cap with a logo which appears to include a large letter V.

Anyone with information should call Bedford police at 817-952-2127 or CrimeStoppers at 817-469-8477.
