Forecasters say there may be only a little sprinkle on North Texas residents the rest of the day.

An upper-level, low-pressure system over North Texas had caused light showers in some areas Monday morning. The system moved away by noon Monday, forecasters said.

According to the weather service, it will be mostly sunny for the rest of the week until Saturday when there will be a 20 percent chance of rain. There's a 30 percent chance of rain on Sunday.

Hurricane Ida will not bring the possibility of rain, forecasters said. As Ida moves on shore in the Gulf of Mexico on Tuesday, it will bring drier air to Tarrant County, but the effect will be nothing more than a slightly windier day, said Dennis Cavanaugh, meteorologist at the National Weather Service in Fort Worth.

Hurricane center officials said that Ida will make landfall about 6 a.m. Tuesday between the east Louisiana coast and the Florida Panhandle coast.

The high today is expected to be in the mid-70s. Tuesday will be partly cloudy with a high in the mid-70s, as well.
