The proposed expansion of Texas 121/183 in Bedford, Euless and Hurst has been environmentally cleared by the Federal Highway Administration.

The move clears the way for the Texas Department of Transportation to begin buying property for right of way.

It also clears the way for the transportation department to sign closing documents with a private development group known as NTE Mobility Partners, which plans to rebuild the road also known as Airport Freeway with a combination of toll and nontoll lanes.

Gordon Dickson reports, in the Honkin' Mad traffic blog.
