Missing woman with Alzheimer's returns to Trophy Club home

TROPHY CLUB -- A 65-year-old woman with Alzheimer’s who had been reported missing since Monday night has driven back home and was in good condition, police said. Tuesday. The husband of Nancy Joy Gonzales called police and reported that his wife had just arrived home about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.

A Trophy Club police officer stopped by the house and verified the information, authorities said Tuesday.

Gonzales was stopped on a traffic violation Tuesday morning in Dallas County, but she was released because the name the officer ran did not mach the one on the statewide Silver Alert, police said.

In addition, the alert did not have the license plate number for Gonzales’ vehicle, police said.

Gonzales was stopped about 11:20 a.m. Tuesday on Interstate 45 in Dallas County, police said.

She was last seen about 8 p.m. Monday at her home at 15 Heritage Court in Trophy Club.

Gonzales was seen about 8:20 p.m. Monday at an Alvord truck stop, asking for directions, Trophy Club police said.

Alvord is in Wise County about 35 miles northwest of Trophy Club, police said.

She drove all over North Texas in a 2006 Toyota Avalon, police said.
