The hunt for a wet October is over.
As rain continued to fall on a chilly, blustery Monday, North Texas had already officially received almost 7 1/4 inches of rain for the month, making it the eighth wettest October on record -- with six more days left to go.The 7.21 inches recorded at Dallas-Fort Worth Airport through Sunday is more than twice the normal amount for the month. Since Sept. 1, the airport has seen 13.73 inches of rain, 7.94 inches more than normal. Rain remained in the forecast all day Monday, with highs only in the 50s, some 20 degrees cooler than Sunday's high of 74.Lows are expected to fall into the 40s on Monday night. The rain is expected to taper off until late Wednesday, when another serious chance of rain is in the forecast, according to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth.May is normally the wettest month in North Texas, but not this year.
