Six people have been found dead at an East Texas campsite, and the man who owns adjacent property was arrested Monday, authorities said.
One woman survived and called 911 Sunday, Anderson County Sheriff Greg Taylor said. Investigators then found the bodies of a man and a woman in a travel trailer. The bodies of four males were found Monday afternoon in a pond on the property of William Hudson.
“A lot of [the victims] are family,” Taylor said.
One of the dead was a child, KYTX-TV of Palestine reported.
Hudson, 33, faces a murder charge. He was in the county jail Monday night with bail set at $2.5 million.
Hudson was apprehended at his mother’s house, next to his property. Taylor said there were no other suspects.
Hudson was picked up several weeks ago for a separate assault, the sheriff said.
Palestine, the county seat of Anderson County, is about 120 miles southeast of Fort Worth.
