Andrea Drusch, a graduate of TCU, will cover local elected officials for the Star-Telegram.
Drusch will serve as the Star-Telegram’s Washington correspondent and will work in the Washington, D.C., bureau for McClatchy, which owns the Star-Telegram and roughly 30 other news media organizations.
She will cover both the House and Senate and other news as applicable. She will return to Texas to report from time to time.
“It’s an exciting time to be covering Texas politics,” said Drusch, who is from Corinth. “With Republicans in control, our elected officials will have a huge role in the legislation coming out of this administration.”

Previously, she was a congressional reporter for the National Journal. Drusch also worked at Politico as a producer and reporter.
A 2011 graduate of TCU’s Schieffer School of Journalism, Drusch serves on the school’s alumni board.
