One person is dead after an apparent head-on collision in Tarrant County, and White Settlement Road west of Chapel Creek Boulevard is expected to be closed in both directions for several hours.

Terry Grisham, executive administrator for the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office, said a blue Honda minivan collided with a blue Ford Mustang in the 11000 block of White Settlement Road, near the Fort Worth city limits.

“This is all very tentative. We have an accident reconstruction team at the scene and a whole lot of work ahead of us to determine what happened,” Grisham said.

He said multiple people were also transported to area hospitals, but he did not know how many people were injured, what their conditions were or what hospitals they were taken to.

The sheriff’s office is investigating and Fort Worth police are on scene assisting with traffic, Grisham said.

The crash was reported about 8 p.m.

The story will be updated as more details become available.
