One person was killed and two were injured Saturday afternoon in a one-vehicle rollover on U.S. 67 west of Cleburne.
A 2003 GMC Envoy driven by Raul Zavala was westbound on the highway when it left the roadway for an unknown reason, “possibly to avoid a collision with another vehicle,” said Senior Trooper Dub Gillum of the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Zavala overcorrected, which caused the Envoy to flip several times, Gillum said.
A female passenger, Florina Zavala, was fatally injured. A 3-year-old girl was transported to Cook Children’s Medical Center, where she was in critical condition Saturday night, Gillum said.
Never miss a local story.
The driver was in serious condition at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth.
The investigation was still underway but had been hampered by a language barrier, Gillum said.
