Body pulled from Trinity River near Panther Island Pavilion

Update:Tarrant County officials have identified the body pulled from the Trinity River Thursday near Panther Island Pavilion.

The body of Joshua Means, 24, was spotted about 12:15 p.m. near the entertainment venue below the bluff at the north end of downtown. Homicide detectives were notified, police reported.

The cause and manner of his death have not been determined, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office. — Mitch Mitchell

A man’s body was discovered Thursday afternoon in the Trinity River, north of downtown, authorities said.

Police, firefighters and paramedics responded to the scene shortly before 12:30 p.m. at North Main Street and East Bluff Street.

MedStar spokesman Matt Zavadsky said the body of the adult male was found in the river near Panther Island Pavilion, a popular entertainment venue where concerts are held.

No other details were available.
