A former Denton High School teacher was indicted Wednesday on two counts of production of child pornography by a federal grand jury in Fort Worth, the U.S. attorney’s office reported.

Gregory Bogomol, 38, of Fort Worth was arrested in May and has been in custody since, according to a news release.

The parents of a 15-year-old boy contacted federal authorities in May saying that someone had solicited photos of the boy by claiming to be a female named “Crystal Williams” on the KIK messenger smartphone app, a special agent with the Department of Homeland Security said.

The boy later became suspicious after repeated requests for more nude photos and told his parents.

Agents traced the requests to Bogomol.

One count of the indictment says that on or about April 23, Bogomol “used, persuaded, induced, enticed, and coerced a minor to engage in sexually explicit conduct for the purpose of producing a visual depiction of that conduct.”

The other count says the same thing happened on April 20 with another teenager.

Bogomol told investigators that he has solicited nude pictures of boys since 2005, according to testimony at a hearing in May.

The statutory maximum penalty for each count is 30 years in federal prison and a $250,000 fine.

Bogomol was a journalism teacher at Denton High School until he resigned a week before his arrest. He also worked seasonally in the Star-Telegram sports department but has not been employed since February.
