Irving police search for suspects in fatal shooting

A man was shot to death early Monday in the parking lot of a McDonald’s in Irving, police said.

Irving police continued their search Monday afternoon for a car that drove away from a killing early Monday in the parking lot of a McDonald’s on Airport Freeway.

Detectives released a photo of a maroon or red Kia Sportage that was seen driving away from the parking lot shortly after 1 a.m. Monday. The photo was taken from surveillance cameras at the fast-food restaurant in the 1300 block of E. Airport Freeway in Irving.

Christopher Guajardo, 26, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities did not release any information on a motive for the shooting.

Irving patrol officers responded to the call shortly after 1 a.m. Monday.

Witnesses told police that Guajardo had been arguing with two people, who were not identified, before the shooting. After the shooting, the two jumped into the Kia Sportage and drove away eastbound on the E. Airport Freeway service road.

One suspect is described as an African-American man about 5 feet, 10 inches to 6 feet tall, slender build, in his 20s and wearing dark pants. The other suspect is an African-American woman about 5 feet, 3 inches, thick build and wearing a black strapless one-piece shorts jumpsuit.

The vehicle is a maroon or red 2000s Kia Sportage.
