Fisherman drowned at Eagle Mountain Lake

The body of a Fort Worth fisherman was found Sunday afternoon in Eagle Mountain Lake.

A fisherman drowned in Eagle Mountain Lake during the weekend while he was out alone on a boat, authorities said Tuesday.

The Tarrant County medical examiner’s office ruled on Tuesday that Kirk Stallings’ death was an accident, and he died from drowning.

Stallings’ body was found about 3 p.m. Sunday in the water near a dock at Lakeview Marina.

Officials with the Tarrant Regional Water District said Tuesday that Stallings was seen Saturday night fishing from a small boat near the marina. Officials have not determined how he ended up in the water.

Marina employees found his body Sunday afternoon.

Officers with the Tarrant Regional Water District and deputies with the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Department investigated.
