Police: Burglar killed Fort Worth man, seriously injured another

A burglar broke into a home early Sunday, killing one man and seriously injuring another, before officers arrested the suspect, police said.
Officers found a 56-year-old man dead in a home in the 2900 block of Cortez Drive in west Fort Worth. His name had not been released Sunday afternoon.
Police also found an 82-year-old man with “numerous blunt force injuries” in the home. He was taken to a hospital, but his condition was unavailable.
A 29-year-old man was in custody Sunday afternoon in connection with the case.
Officers responded to the burglary call about 2 a.m. Sunday at a house in the 2900 block of Cortez Drive, where the victims were found.
Additional officers found the suspect in a parked vehicle near the 2900 block of Cortez Drive. He was taken to a hospital, but police did not provide details of his injuries.
Homicide detectives are investigating.
