Motorcyclist identified in fatal Mansfield crash

A motorcyclist who died in a traffic wreck on a Mansfield highway Sunday night has been identified as Raymond Bell of Venus, authorities said Tuesday.

Bell, 56, was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:44 p.m., according to the Tarrant County medical examiner’s website. He died of injuries to his head and neck after the three-vehicle wreck, according to a ruling by the medical examiner’s office.

The wreck happened shortly before 10:30 p.m. Sunday in the 600 block of U.S. 287 in Mansfield. Mansfield police said Tuesday that three vehicles - an 18-wheeler, a car and a motorcycle driven by Bell - were southbound on the highway when the wreck occurred. Police provided no other details.

Detectives continued on Tuesday to investigate the wreck, trying to determine what caused the collision.
