A Hurst man died Sunday afternoon from injuries he suffered in a wreck on Loop 820 and another person was killed in a separate crash on 28th Street, police said.

The Tarrant County medical examiner’s officials identified the Hurst man as Joshua Kent, 25. He was pronounced dead at 3:06 p.m. Sunday at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth.

The crash was reported Sunday afternoon in the 2200 block of East Loop 820 in east Fort Worth.

A Dodge pickup was northbound when it attempted to change lanes, struck a car and veered over a guardrail, police said. The pickup landed in the southbound lanes and collided with a tractor-trailer, police said.

Kent was taken to the Fort Worth hospital where he died. A passenger, a young child, was taken to Cook Children’s Medical Center in good condition.

No other major injuries were reported.

A second person died in an accident at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the 1200 block of Northeast 28th St. Others were injured in the two-vehicle accident, but police said those injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.
