A 15-year-old girl accused of repeatedly assaulting an elderly woman and then robbing her in the parking lot of Wal-Mart remained in custody Sunday.

A 17-year-old accused of being her accomplice also was in jail Sunday, according to jail records.

The 15-year-old girl was not being identified because she is a juvenile, but police identified the 17-year-old as Bobby Wilson of Fort Worth.

The robbery occurred about 12:01 p.m. on June 27 in the 2900 block of Renaissance Square.

The 73-year-old victim told police she was assaulted in the Wal-Mart parking lot by a heavyset female who took her purse. In an interview with Fox4 News, the woman said she was hit in the face at least 10 times. After beating the woman, the assailant jumped into a car driven by a second person.

Police released surveillance video of the robbery last week and received several tips on possible suspects.

Authorities arrested Wilson on Thursday and also detained the 15-year-old, who faces a delinquent conduct//aggravated robbery charge. Wilson faces a charge of aggravated robbery.

The 15-year-old was being detained by juvenile authorities and Wilson was in the Mansfield Jail Sunday with bail set at $50,000.

“We are still investigating other possible related robberies involving Wilson and the juvenile female, and more warrants may be forthcoming,” Sgt. Raymond Bush said in a news release.
