A Fire Department dive team has recovered the body of a man who is the first drowning victim of the July Fourth weekend in North Texas.

Divers found the body in Lake Worth at about 5:30 p.m. Saturday, about an hour after he was reported to have gone under.

Identification is pending from the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office, a Fire Department spokesman said.

The man was at Lake Worth Marina Park in Fort Worth with his family when he went missing in the water.

Firefighters and city marshals searched for him before the dive team arrived. Divers found the body about 30 feet offshore, in 6 to 7 feet of water.
