Two motorists were shot during Dallas carjackings less than three hours apart Friday, and detectives were trying to determine if the same robbers were involved in the cases.
One victim was in serious condition. Another, who was shot in the buttocks, was listed in fair condition, police said.
The first carjacking was reported about 4:40 a.m. in the 8900 block of Senate Street. A gunman shot a driver and took a 2002 Ford Taurus. Detectives believe two other suspects were with the gunman. Detectives were unable to interview the motorist.
The second carjacking occurred about 7 a.m. at Corinth and 11th streets. A driver was stopped at a stop sign when he was approached by two suspects, who pulled him from a 1995 Toyota 4Runner and hit him with a pistol.
The motorist ran but was shot in the buttocks. The suspects drove off in the motorist’s vehicle, Dallas police said.
