Colleyville firefighters find body in burned house

Colleyville firefighters found a body Tuesday morning on the second floor of a residence that was destroyed by a fire, officials said.

A man, a woman and a baby escaped the blaze, which was reported shortly after 1 a.m. in the 3500 block of Blue Quail Lane.

The body, found about 10 a.m., had not been identified by late Tuesday.

A 17-year-old girl, whom authorities did not identify, was seen going upstairs about 10:30 p.m. Monday, city spokeswoman Mona Gandy said.

No other injuries were reported.

Colleyville firefighters arrived to find the two-story house engulfed in flames.

Firefighters from Colleyville, Bedford, North Richland Hills, Keller, Hurst and Southlake helped extinguish the blaze within an hour, officials said.

The cause was under investigation.
