FORT WORTH — A 23-year-old man who was fatally stabbed Friday afternoon in southwest Fort Worth was identified as Paul Welch by the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office.

His cousin, Brandon Neil Lemons, 26, was arrested and is being held on $250,000 bond, facing a murder charge, according to police records.

The stabbing was reported at 4:12 p.m. Friday in the 4900 block of Cedar Hill Road, police records show.

Welch, who lived in the 4400 block of Pierce Street, was being treated by first responders when police arrived, while Lemons sat nearby on a curb, said officer Sharron Neal, a police spokeswoman.

Welch, who was stabbed in the upper torso, was pronounced dead later at a Fort Worth hospital.

“This case is being treated as a domestic-violence-related homicide,” Neal said.
