A preliminary investigation indicated no charges are expected to be filed against a motorist who hit and killed a pedestrian early Sunday on a Fort Worth highway.

A man trying to cross a highway was killed early Sunday when a vehicle struck him, police said.

Authorities had not released his name.

Patrol officers responded to a major accident call shortly before 3 a.m. Sunday in the 2500 block of Jackboro Highway. The motorist stopped after the accident, and a preliminary report indicated that no charges are expected against the driver.
