Body of man recovered in Lewisville Lake

Divers used sonar equipment to find the body.

The body of a man who went missing in Lewisville Lake was found Sunday afternoon by a dive team using sonar, authorities said.

Divers located the body shortly before 5 p.m., just over an hour after he was reported missing in the north end of the lake, Capt. Cliff Swofford of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department said Sunday.

The man’s identity had not been released.

Authorities received a report that the man was missing about 3:40 p.m. Sunday near the party cove. “He went out swimming for an object and the winds kept pushing it out,” Swofford said. “He was not wearing a life jacket.”
