A 10-year-old Arlington boy missing since Wednesday night has been found safe and returned to his family, police said.
Arlington police said just after 2:30 p.m. Thursday that Forrest Lawrence had been found in a nearby neighborhood.
The boy went missing Wednesday night after he apparently ran away from home because he was being punished for having problems at school, Arlington police said. Forrest lives with his family in the 8400 block of Redheart Street in Arlington.
Forrest was last seen about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday after he was told to go to his room as part of his punishment. When family members went to check on him, he was not in his room.
Forrest’s family called 911 about midnight after they could not find him.
Arlington police said Forrest has a history of running away and previously has been found in backyards.
