One of two people killed in a weekend motorcycle wreck on Interstate 35E in Lewisville has been identified as Angeline Watson, 39, believed to be from Lewisville, officials said Tuesday.
Watson and the motorcycle driver died at the scene Saturday night, authorities said.
Officials were withholding the other victim’s name until relatives could be notified, said Linda Anderson, a spokeswoman for the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office. That victim, a 44-year-old man from Lewisville, was the driver, police said Tuesday.
The single-vehicle wreck was reported shortly before 9 p.m. Saturday in the 1600 block of southbound I-35E.
“Witnesses reported that the driver of the motorcycle was driving at a high rate of speed and weaving in and out of traffic,” Lewisville police Lt. Dan Rochelle said in a news release Sunday. “The initial investigation is revealing that the driver lost control and crashed into a guardrail.”
Neither the driver nor the passenger was wearing a helmet, police said. Police closed the southbound lanes for several hours as authorities investigated.
