Police are investigating a shooting that critically injured a teen early Friday.

Officers responded to a robbery call about 3 a.m. in the 700 block of Ridgeglen Drive at the Manchester Park Apartments, according to Sgt. Jeffrey Houston, an Arlington police spokesman.

A short time later, a teen arrived at Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital with multiple gunshot wounds. The teen was driven there by three other young men in a private vehicle, Houston said in an email.

According to investigators, that group had apparently tried to commit a robbery in the 700 block of Ridgeglen Drive, Houston said. One of the suspects pulled a gun on the victims, who struggled with the suspect, according to police.

A second suspect then shot the first suspect several times, Houston said.

All the suspects then left the area and drove to the hospital, police said. The teen was taken by helicopter ambulance to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth and was in serious condition, Houston said.

The investigation is ongoing, and detectives are interviewing multiple people, including the suspects, Houston said.
