Motorist killed in White Settlement wreck

Speed was a factor in a wreck on Spur 341 on Thursday morning that killed a White Settlement man, police say.

A White Settlement man was killed Thursday morning in a one-vehicle wreck on Spur 341 near the West Freeway in White Settlement when an SUV hit a guardrail and flipped, authorities said.

Enrique Flores, 55, was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:39 a.m., according to the Tarrant County medical examiner’s website.

The wreck was reported shortly before 6:30 a.m. at 1700 South Spur 341. Flores, driving a 2001 Ford Explorer, had just exited the West Freeway, White Settlement police said.

“He was traveling too fast, lost control of his vehicle and hit a guardrail,” police Lt. J.P. Bevering said. “On impact, his vehicle went airborne and flipped.”

Flores was ejected, police said. He was the lone occupant of the SUV.
