Police would like to talk to anyone who witnessed a collision in Midlothian Thursday afternoon in which a pickup driver was seriously injured.
The crash occurred about 2 p.m. in the 4000 block of northbound U.S. 287. A tractor-trailer rig was turning left across a median when a black Ford F150 pickup crashed into the back of the rig, according to a news release from the Mansfield traffic investigation unit, which is helping Midlothian police.
The pickup driver was flown by helicopter ambulance to Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, the release said.
Investigators are hoping that someone who saw the crash will contact them so they can ascertain exactly how the crash happened, said Thad Penkala, a Mansfield police spokesman.
