Police are investigating a wreck in which two people were killed on southbound East Loop 820 on Friday afternoon.

Shortly before 1:45 p.m., a black Acura in a northbound lane crossed the center grass median and collided with a blue Chevrolet pickup, police said. The pickup spun but continued southbound, police said.

The Acura then spun into a white Ford F-250 pickup, which overturned in the 2400 block of southbound East Loop 820.

Both occupants of the Acura were pronounced dead at the scene, police said. One passenger was identified Saturday as Tajh Long, 20, of Arlington by the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office. The other passenger has not yet been identified.

Four men in the overturned truck got out on their own and were treated at the scene, a news release from the Fort Worth Fire Department said.

Police said they do not believe drugs or alcohol played a role in the collision, but a standard toxicology report will be requested, police said.

There were no other injuries and no citations will be issued, police said.

The collision is still under investigation.
