A man shot multiple times early Tuesday while he was in his car in a parking lot off Great Southwest Parkway in east Arlington is expected to survive, police said.

The victim, whom police did not identify, was taken to a hospital and is expected to recover, police Sgt. Jeff Houston said in an email.

The shooting was reported about 1 a.m. in the 300 block of Great Southwest Parkway.

Officers arrived to find the victim with “multiple gunshot wounds,” according to police reports. His vehicle was nearby, and detectives believe that’s where the shooting occurred.

“He apparently was in his vehicle when he was shot and then walked into a nearby bar for help,” Houston said.

No one has been arrested. Anyone with information is asked to call Arlington police at 817-459-6487.
