A 26-year-old Fort Worth man was arrested Wednesday on a murder warrant in the weekend shooting that killed a 24-year-old Forest Hill man and wounded a woman.
Kenneth Ray Remble was in the Mansfield Jail on Thursday night with bail set at $125,000.
Police were dispatched about 9 p.m. Saturday to a reported shooting at the intersection of Elgin and Effie streets.
Officers found 24-year-old Hubert McClendon, a passenger in a car, shot in the head. He was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital where he died the next morning.
The car’s 24-year-old driver was also shot but she was treated and released from a hospital.
Police had been investigating whether the shooting stemmed from a fight at the nearby J.A. Cavile Place Apartments. Homicide Sgt. Joe Loughman said Thursday that the fight is not believed to be related.
Police declined to release additional information Thursday. Additional arrests are expected, said Sharron Neal, a police spokeswoman.
Courts records show Remble was sentenced in Arlington to five years in prison in 2009 on a conviction of aggravated assault for shooting a man.
