Fort Worth store robbed by man with ‘violent demeanor’ and a rifle

The man was seen on video surveillance pointing a scoped bolt-action rifle at two employees. He also hit one of the workers with the barrel of the rifle, police said.

Police are asking for the public’s help to catch a violent man with a rifle who robbed a MetroPCS store Tuesday evening in the 3600 block of Rosedale Street.

The crime was captured by a video surveillance camera.

The man is seen on the tape entering the store at about 7:40 p.m.

He pointed the scoped bolt-action rifle at two employees, said Cpl. Tracey Knight, a police spokeswoman. Knight added that the man “displayed a very demanding and violent demeanor.”

“The suspect demanded money and struck one of the victims with the barrel of the rifle,” Knight said in a news release. “The suspect exited the store and ran to the south after taking the money.”

Witnesses said the man was black, about 5 feet 10 inches tall and appeared to weigh around 170 pounds. He wore a short dark beard, Knight said.

He also wore a dark jacket or vest, a blue hat, a white T-shirt, dark pants and tennis shoes.

Anyone with information can call 911 or Crime Stoppers at Crime Stoppers at 817-469-8477.
